It has been a while since i blogged!!!! Many people asked me what i've been doing after my exams?

I used 3 days to finish reading this book, titled "Why we love" by Helen Fisher. It's a very good book!! I'm not a vivid reader but this book really caught my attention. It talks about how our brain reacts and produced chemicals when we are in love. The researchers did MRI scans on 800-900 individuals who are in love. For instance, during the scan, they will show pictures of their beloved vs pictures of a neutral friend. Then, the result will show that when seeing the beloved picture, certain region of the brain will 'light up'. this applies to almost all of the participants. It also talks about when we are in love, 3 main chemicals are in the act. There will be an increase of dopamine and norephinphrine (spell error) and while a decrease in serotonin. Hence, that is why we felt so excited, nervous, awkard and emotionally attached to our beloved. That is also why we will think of them 90% of our awaken time (research results by them) etc. however, it is also these 3 chemicals that will result in the downfall of our emotions. When we're jilted or ditched, the same chemicals will be released. However this time, the dopamine and norephinphrine will soar even higher and serotinin will further decrease in its level! Hence..this leads sleeplesss nights, loss of appetite, anger, emotional longing for the person. And the book says it may cause some to result in stalking, murdering, hurting the ex-beloved. Woah. the same chemicals can cause a LOVING FEELING vs HATRED FEELING! =X

And the book talks about the evolution of human brain with regards to romance and love. It is really a very interesting book!! highly recommended! It talks a lot about pharmacology ( the module that i took tis sem) and its v relatable to what i studied as well! awesome! the moment i showed liling the book, she screamed in excitment as she has been looking for this book for v long! heh.
